Sioux Falls food blogger Stephanie Carlson (who shared her best tips and tricks with me for an article I wrote about homemade pizza) has a recipe for creamy scalloped potatoes featured in the new Gooseberry Patch cookbook, “Slow Cooking All Year Round.”
Carlson’s creamy scalloped potatoes are simple to make, and the recipe can easily be halved or doubled, depending on how many people you need to serve.
In the cookbook, Carlson reveals her recipe’s secret ingredient – a bay leaf. It adds an extra layer of savory flavor to the scalloped potatoes. Just remember to remove it before serving, Carlson says.
